Interested in joining PQIP? Here's how to get involved...
If you are an NHS hospital and are interested in participating in this national quality improvement programme, please see the information and steps outlined below:
- PQIP is remaining open to new sites for the foreseeable future.
- You should have an initial discussion with your R&D department to see if the study is one they are likely to be able to support. The relevant study documents are available on the Study Documents page accessible under the Research Resources tab on this website.
- Once a local discussion has taken place, you can contact us (pqip@rcoa.ac.uk) and we can send out the full study document pack to your R&D team.
- We will add the site to the study with a non-substantial amendment, which generally takes 1-2 months and can be done while the R&D team are working through the study documents.
- The local R&D team need to confirm capacity and capability to participate and we then hold a site initiation teleconference before you can start recruiting.
- The whole process generally takes a couple of months.
- The documents to consult initially are the procedure list, study protocol and introduction pack. Sites are able to recruit a set target using a randomisation process, or they can choose to recruit all eligible patients within one or more of the specialty groups.
